INFO :

Shankar Dada (Chiranjeevi) is a good hearted don in Hyderabad who runs away from home at a young age. He extorts money, kidnaps and roughs up people for money with the help of his faithful sidekick ATM (Srikanth). But, he lies to his old age father (Girish Karnad) that he is a doctor in the city. Every year when they come to the city to visit him, he pretends to be a doctor and makes them happy. Finally the drama comes to an end, as one of the doctors in the locality Lingam (Paresh Rawal) tells Shankala’s parents the truth when they try to strike an alliance between their son and his daughter Sunitha (Sonali Bendre). Shankar decides to complete MBBS and become a doctor to live up to his parent’s wishes. He joins the college at which Paresh Rawal is the principal, and turns into a menace to him. There is a parallel track where he cures the patients in the hospital, not through medicine, but by showing love and affection towards them. How he lives up to his parent’s dream and makes Sunitha fall in love with him, while gaining the principal’s acceptance forms the story’s crux.

INFO :
This is a story set to pre-independence period in India. A village landlord Kanakayya (Rao Gopal Rao) marries Seetha (Jayasudha), who is young enough to be his daughter, with the help of village karaNam (Nutan Prasad). However, he restricts her a lot after the marriage. Seetha's brother Bangaram (Chalam) comes from the town and eyes Bangari (Reshmi Roy), Kanakayya's deaf and dumb servant Devudu's (Chandramohan) sister. Bangari is in love with Narasimha (Chiranjeevi), another servant of Kanakayya. Bangaram rapes Bangari. Kanakayya suspects that Seetha is in love with Devudu, and in a fit of rage, he kills them both one day. People revolt against Kanakayya and kill him at the end.

Raviraj(kannada prabhakar) is a smuggler who kills people and smuggles their skulls to foreign countries.Billa Ranga movie poster
To get evidences against him and close his business, police commissioner (thyagaraju) call up Billa(Chiranjeeevi) , a CID officer from delhi and presents him as thief in local area.
Raviraj knows about Billa’s identity and tries to attack him.
On the other side Ranga(Mohanbabu) has a misunderstanding with his wife(swapna) and leaves her along with their daughter.
Swapna meets Billa and he promises her to unite her with her husband and daughter.
Police commissioner’s daughter(syamala gouri) falls in love with Billa but sees swapna at his home and this creates a misunderstanding.
Swapna takesup the job of clarifying issues between lovers and reunites them.
Raviraj makes an attempt to cheat Billa and tries to kill him but Ranga saves him.
Swapna sees ranga and reveals that he’s her husband.
Ranga dishonours her and this creates a rift between Billa and Ranga.
Raviraj knows this and tries to take advantage of this by kidnapping swapna and her daughter and making Billa and Ranga fight against each other.
Raviraj’s subordinate, bheemaraju brings them to Raviraj’s den where the movie ends with big fight and Raviraj is arrested by police.
Billa gets police commissioner’s daughter and Ranga gets his family back.

Shyam (Chiranjeevi) a look a like of Prasad is a crook who murders Gangadhar Rao with the help of Rama for the property and hides the money. Susheela (kavitha) who is in love with Shyam sees the murder and loses her sanity. Susheela is sister of Gangaraju.

Rama wants to plan the murder of Prasad in accident, so that Shyam can be roam freely in the name of Prasad. But plan backfires and how Syam and Rama ends up and how Gangaraju and Prasad take the revenge is the rest of the story.

About the Film: The film is the first double role film of Chiranjeevi. This is his eighteenth film and second film in the same banner. Earlier he worked his ninth film Sriramabantu (3rd July 1979) with the same team. This is also Chiranjeevi’s third film based on Kommuri Sambasiva Rao’s Nenu Chavanu Novel. Incidentally this is also third novel of Sri Kommuri Sambasivarao which was made into film.

The film Assistant Directors Nandakumar and Tarani later worked with Dasari also before they directed films like Duragadevi (Nandakumar) and Ravugarillu (Tarani)

A different story attempted by Kranti Kumar, Agni Gundam projects Chiru as Vijay, who is a sincere worker in a factory.agni gundamHe tries to expose the reality of few anti social elements as a part of his mission to stand for justice.
Few big wigs like Satyam are worried about vijay’s activities and plan to destroy him.
Meanwhile, Vijay falls in love with latha(sumalatha), but satyam manages to get latha married to his brother chinna.
In this way he tries to hit vijay emotionally. But, later chinna is murdered and Vijay is trapped into this murder case.
Vijay is sent to jail, where he realizes the truth. He joins satyam after being released and pretends to work for him.
In the end, vijay manages to gather evidences of all dark secrets of satyam and gets him arrested.
Chiru excels in the role of vijay, who lost everything for justice, but sticks to his principles.
Good songs like Chempaku Charedu Kallamma,Kavvinche Saagara composed by chakravarti were other highlights of this movie.

This movie depicts a common man’s struggle for justice, and problems faced in the due course.

In the due process Dharmarao is killed and ravi is trapped into this murder case.
Ravi is arrested and produced in court. Due to lack of evidence, supporting him, Ravi is sentenced to death.
Things take an interesting turn as,Bharathi, a law student offers to marry Ravi who files a mercy petition to the president on his behalf.Bharati appeals to be with her husband till she gets a child.
Ravi’s petition is approved and he is granted parol till he gets a child.
Ravi uses this time to the maximum extent and he exposes lokeswarrao’s atrocitiies.
Ravi’s case is reopened by Bharati and he is declared innocent.
Chiru’s action as a struggling poor guy against loopholes of law and madhavi’s acting as lawyer are highlights of this movie.
